ReadyDesk version 8.6 has been released and is available for download today. This latest version has some great new features. Be sure and check out the new online demos and download the updated user manual.
Below is a short list of some of the enhancements in this release:
Updated Build Processes: Various components of ReadyDesk that are built "on the fly" were previously compiled using external batch scripts and relied on them being able to run small executables on the server. We have replaced these build processes with pure .Net code. This will allow ReadyDesk to run on any server, even remotely hosted web servers, without any special security needed.
Re-designed Report Builder: The layout for the report builder has been changed. This gives it a cleaner look, and will allow for us to add new options more easily in the future. We have also added new time periods. They are "Yesterday", "Last Week", "Last Month" and "Last Year".
Resolution Times Report: Several new fields have been added to this report to allow for more filterable results. For example, you can now select which ticket statuses you would like to see the resolution times for.
Billing Quantity: Billing categories can now be marked as "Bill by Quantity". Categories of this type will allow technicians to enter the number of items to bill for in a quantity field, similar to the time entry field, and ReadyDesk will calculate the cost.
Rich text editor updates: We have made several little tweaks to the editor to make it function more reliably in all browsers. The biggest change is that you can now paste screenshots directly into the editors. Pasting screenshots is supported in the current versions of Chrome and Firefox, as well as Internet Explorer 11+. Older versions of Internet Explorer do not have this capability.
Rich Text Editor for Customers: We have added a rich text editor to the customer portal. Customers can now add styles and colors to their text, or even paste a screenshot directly into the summary field. * Pasting screenshots is supported in Chrome, Firefox and IE 11+.
PDF Documents: Customers, Technicians and admins can now download several items as PDF documents. This includes tickets, reports and billing invoices. You can even have invoices automatically emailed to customers as PDF file attachments.
Various bug fixes/enhancements: There have been various other small bug fixes and enhancements made throughout ReadyDesk.
For existing customers, please note that a database upgrade IS required with this release.
